RSC Series - Vertical Inspection Slitter Rewinder

The ROTOCONTROL RSC series offers a full suite of standard features in an economical, compact machine designed to maximize operator efficiency. Standard features such as cartridge slitting system, vertical inspection zone, automatic tension control, S-Drive servo driven operation, job save and simple, functional controls means more time producing labels and less time in set up.

RSP Single Pass 100% Inspection Security Machines

The ROTOCONTROL RSP series machines are specifically designed for compliance with the most demanding security label inspection and finishing applications. The vision system provides 100% inspection of the web and stops the machine when a fault is detected, prior to slitting or other post-inspection operations. The faulty label is automatically placed on the inspection/splice table where the operator can perform corrective action. Once the fault is corrected, the web reverses and the corrected label passes under the vision system a 2nd time, ensuring 100% compliant product is passed to the next stages of production.

The ROTOCONTROL RSP machines feature an extremely small footprint- only 1.2 x 2.6 meters of floor space plus the moveable control panel. 100% servo drive including the dynamic accumulator assures precise, automatic tension control and high speed- trademarks of all ROTOCONTROL machines.

The RSP machines are available in 340, 440 and 540mm web widths with all of the options normally associated with the RSC Slitter/Rewinder Inspection machines including large capacity separate unwind, shear and razor slitting cartridges, waste wind-up, strobe illumination and multiple shaft sizes.

The machine can operate in 3 distinct levels of compliance conforming to the required level of security. These include:

Full Compliance In Full Compliance mode, a defective label must be corrected and re-inspected before the process can continue and cannot be overridden by the operator. This mode is intended for applications where 100% compliant labels must be guaranteed.

Controlled Compliance In this mode, the operator can choose to re-inspect the corrected label with a single button push, or bypass the re-inspection system and accept a defective label after manually inspecting or correcting it. This mode is intended for premium value-add labels that require the highest quality but leave some discretion to the operator in order to increase throughput.

High Speed Inspection This mode engages the 100% vision inspection system but does not utilize the re-inspection capability. The machine places defective labels on the inspection plate where the operator corrects the defective label and continues the process until the next defect is detected. This mode is intended for standard labels and the defect parameters can be set to balance high throughput with acceptable quality.

In all modes, the speed of the machine is determined by the inspection parameters and the capabilities of the inspection system. ROTOCONTROL can provide fully integrated solutions from industry leading vision system suppliers to meet the needs and preferences of the convertor.

RSD Series Die Cutting, Slitting/Rewinding Finishing Machines

The ROTOCONTROL RSD product line is based on an S-Drive servo driven die cutting station with 800mm unwind, cartridge shear/razor slitting and rewind system. Extremely robust construction and full modularity allows expansion of the basic configuration to meet customer specific requirements. Turret rewinders, multiple die stations and a complete line of finishing options are available including flexo and lamination stations. Touch panel Graphical User Interface conveniently mounted on a swing-arm provides operators with complete control at all stations.

DRM Series Turret/ Dual Rewind Modules

The ROTOCONTROL DRM series  dual rewind semi-automatic turrets are offered as an accessory to the RSC and RSD line of Slitter/Rewinder and Die Cutting machines.  The DRM features dual mode operation where the module can be operated as a turret or alternatively in dual rewind mode with the shafts locked in position.  Automated cutting and core attachment along with full integration into the all RSC and RSD machines make the DRM an excellent way to increase product throughput and profitability.
